What’s involved with this role:
To undertake effective marketing, promotional and communications activities for Orbit East & South that enhance the organisations image both internally and externally.
Marketing promotion:
Work with user groups to develop and improve public relations and promotions and to create a high profile for Orbit East and Orbit South.
Provide creative guidance, logistical and promotional support for external promotions, events or displays.
Identify and actively seek out opportunities to promote Orbit East & South in terms of its achievements, aims and values.
Communications:
Identify research, prepare and issue positive news stories about Orbit East & South for appropriate media.
Arrange photo-calls to support news releases and to generate images suitable for housing press and / or company publications.
Establish positive relationships with operational teams and develop a thorough understanding of the challenges faced by front line staff and the organisation as a whole to improve quality and quantity of positive media coverage.
Establish positive and effective relationships with local and sector media, ensuring that media enquiries are handled in a way to provide balanced treatment
Provide creative guidance, logistical and promotional support for resident consultation events / open-days etc.
Work closely with residents to produce newsletters, annual reports and other publications, demonstrating a co regulatory approach.
Assist with copy writing / sub-editing of various publications (tenants’ / residents / staff newsletters, Annual Reports & other external publications.)
Ensure that the website content is regularly reviewed and updated.
Review proposed and existing customer targeted forms and publications and apply ‘Plain English’ and clear print principles.
Ensure that communications are in line with accessibility and diversity legislation and Group policies as appropriate.
Other:
Liaise and co-ordinate working arrangements with the Group’s PR & Communications Team.
Assist with input to reviews and development of various corporate strategies and policies as directed by the team manager.

UK working experience
Availability to work – CV should state either immediate or at short notice
Relevant qualifications/experience in PR or journalism
Substantial recent experience of working on service sector marketing / PR environment with media responsibilities, preferably within a similar role and ideally within a public sector organisation
Experience of copy writing / copy editing press articles or press releases, newsletters, speeches, brochures etc.
Willing to travel between sites as required.
Willing to attend evening and weekend meetings as necessary.
Microsoft Office skills

Anticipated Length of Assignment: All of our roles are technically temporary, though opening assignments can be and often are, extended by clients on a longer term basis. This opening assignment is for 1 month.
Hours per week: 35-37 (tbc) Monday – Friday, normal working hours
